Go!

The Newsboys sing it, "Go! From the top of the world, to the bottom rung, Till the work is done, I'm gonna send you." Last night we got to to the top rung by experiencing a Newsboys concert! It was awesome. We went with our friends, the Goodwins, and we had a blast. There were three lead-in bands, Rush of Fools we know from K-Love, but we got to hear a new band, NewWorldSon, whom we really liked. We're going to try and find one of their CDs.

The boys enjoyed ice cream in between bands. Wesley brought his super duper shooting earmuffs to keep the sound down. Cameron was good and wore his foam ear plugs too. Mom was the bad girl and took her ear plugs out for Newsboys. Her ears were still ringing this morning, but it was SO worth it!

Wesley's first concert t-shirt. And his first concert drum sticks! He was quite impressed by all of the drummers, but the Newsboys drummer outdid them all. During the song "Free," his round drum platform is raised up in the air about 15 feet, tilted 90 degress forward, and it spins, all while he is playing! It was amazing!

Cameron's cool first concert t-shirt. He missed the Newsboys last year because he got a migraine, so this year he soaked it all in. He was on his feet during the entire Newsboys performance.

If you haven't had the chance to praise God in a setting like this, it is something unique and amazing. Knowing that the other 5,000 people around you are all singing to the God of the universe is awesome. Our kids aren't exposed to much raised hands and outward praise, being that we are members of a more, um, conservative and methodical church, so mom loves to see them experience a more bold and demonstrative worship. To be able to sing "Free" with the Newsboys was truly a blessing :)

The Newsboys founded a new ministry last year called Global Tribe. Check it out at www.globaltribe.com.
