Look Out World...

Here come two new musicians, and they are LOUD! Wesley is now the proud owner of an electric drum set, and man, it totally sounds like a regular drum set. Only louder! He has practiced so much in the days since he got this, I think his arms are going to fall off :) Now he's ready for any lesson Larry can throw at him.

Cameron has finally gotten his dream guitar, and it is also LOUD! He has chosen to study rock music, now that his two years of basic skills have been mastered. He loves to turn his amp up and let it roll. The windows are still shaking :)

Thankfully, Dad was smart and purchased two nice sets of musician headphones that plug into the amps so that Mom can be allowed to keep her sanity. She has been heard recently, repeatedly yelling "turn it DOWN!!!!" Aaah, if only we had put the bonus room in over the garage when we built this house...

We've been busy in the days since Easter, so here are some of the things we've been doing.

Cameron participated in the all-Kennewick 5th Grade Choral Festival at Southridge High last week. It was an awesome concert with over 500 kids singing.

Can you spot Cameron? Front row, around the middle, wearing dark/medium blue shirt.

Cameron and Dad headed to the rainy part of the state last weekend, with friends Hayden and Keith, to partake in Hunter Safety Training at Toledo, WA. Cameron and Hayden waited patiently for their turn on the shotgun range.

Cameron shooting a 20 gauge semi-automatic during shotgun live fire qualification. He didn't know about recoil until this event, and his shoulder is still smarting :)

Completing the field course requirement. This is s simulated hunt in which he must demonstrate muzzle control at all times, identify game, make correct decisions on whether or not to shoot based on background, conditions, kind of game, etc. He did terrific! Any kid who didn't have his gun confiscated by the instructor did great. One mistake in this part, and you're out for the rest of the weekend...

Completing the live fire rifle requirement with a .223. It had recoil too!

Can you guess what happened below? There was a recent tragedy at our house. For background, Angus' hunting buddy, Gauge, stayed with us for a week. The other day I drove in the garage from work, a minute behind Wesley, who comes out to the car and says, " Guess what the dogs did?" I imagined all kinds of sinister doggy things, but never did I imagine this. I walked in the door and grumpily asked, "Who made this mess?" Both Angus and Gauge tucked their tails between their legs and ran for their beds. Bingo, guilty parties noted!

Nanni, I'm sorry, but the victim in all this was my buckwheat-filled neck pillow that was shaped like a kitty. Guess what I need for Christmas? You should have seen Wesley walking around the living room picking up kitty body parts. "Here's the tail. And here's an ear..." Sigh... Apparently at Gauge's house the stuffed animals are the dog's toys, so he didn't know the rules. And, of course, Mr. Bring On the Party (Angus) was all too happy to help out.

Q: How long does it take to vacuum up buckwheat and stuffing? A: 33 minutes. Q: How many time do you have to dump the vacuum dirt cup during this activity? A: Twice.
