Finally, something new!

Yes, I've gotten some flack about not having updated the blog since Easter, mostly the flack has come from my own children, so there you go. Anyway, we have been busy, mostly surviving the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) - our state's standardized school test. Whew, still makes me wonder why high schoolers can get into college with a one-day SAT test, but grade schoolers need two full weeks of testing to assess what they've learned. Ok, off the political soap box and on to the fun stuff!

Cameron and Dad headed out last weekend to the District Camporee at Fishhook Park. The weather was great, and they had a blast competing in Patrol skill and teamwork competitions.

Cameron entered the Dutch oven cooking contest with Gator Cheesecake with raspberry topping. Wow, it was awesome! He brought a piece home to mom, God bless him.

Cameron is currently the Senior Patrol Leader in the troop, so he doesn't belong to one of the patrols right now. His job it to lead and help all patrols and patrol leaders, so he got to participate in lots of different things :) In this case, the boys were demonstrating rigging an emergency shelter with proper knots, etc.
