Nanni's Visit and the First Day of School!

We've been busy lately :) Nanni came for a visit last week, and we had the best time just hanging out, visiting, being lazy, and visiting some more. The boys always enjoy having her undivided attention for a few days, to show her all things that interest them, to practice their instruments for her, to play games, and get in the pool!

Nanni will always be known as a good sport because she swam in the pool even though it wasn't as warm as we'd like...

And we were off this morning for the first day of school! Aaack, the Nichols family has a middle-schooler! Yes, Cameron proudly began 6th grade today, and he thought it was "AWESOME!" Wesley began 4th grade, and LOVES his teacher, Mrs. Earley. He thinks it's cool that she gives out candy for treats all day :)


Mom headed back to the office today, after the extreme blessing of being able to work from home this summer. She enjoyed getting back into the swing of things at Battelle, and anticipates being in the office 1-2 school-hour days per week this Fall.


Cameron is in the Enrichment Program (academically gifted), and gets to have advanced placement classes throughout the day. He loves a challenge, and thinks his Enrichment teacher is totally cool. Here comes band this year, he's planning to play the saxophone. He also likes wearing a badge (like mom and dad!), and thinks his new backpack with embroidered initials is great.

We hope that all other kids out there are getting off to a good start this school year, and we pray that all our kids, teachers, administrators, and support staff will have a wonderful year of fun and learning.
