And it's off to Boy Scout Summer Camp...

Dad's been waiting for this event for years, the trip to Boy Scout Summer Camp! Dad loved camp as a kid, and he was on staff at summer camp as a teen. So going as Scoutmaster of Troop 148 was a blast. Oh, and Cameron had fun too!

Cameron pegs out on the swim board. They always swim with a buddy, and have to peg in and out so lifeguards know who is in the water at any one time. Safety first!

Cameron took his travel guitar to camp, and had the honor of playing the Star Spangled Banner at the last flag ceremony.

The goofy scouts of Troop 148.

Hunting down hundreds of tiny Cascade frogs.

Cameron and Sheldon hanging out again. The camp was near the Seattle area, thus the coastal tribe totem pole.

Getting ready for the swimming merit badge. He's wearing Dad's scout pants (needed some long pants that were light weight).

Into the water for the swimming merit badge!

Cameron had to take his pants off while treading water, tie the legs, fill them with air, and use them as a personal flotation device. He did great!

Aaah, the Scoutmaster Splash. Scoutmaster Dad had to hold a coffee can up to his chest, right below his face, and his scouts had to fill it with water! Guess how they did it? Yep, by giving the Scoutmaster a good splashing! The boys liked this activity :)

Scoutmaster Splash Phase II: Make a Scoutmaster canoe! Start by attaching lots of life vests to the Scoutmaster...

Keep attaching those life vests, you don't want your Scoutmaster Canoe to sink!

Now find your lightest scout (Sebastian, 60 lbs) and have him paddle your Scoutmaster Canoe to the dock and back! Woo hoo! Scoutmaster Nichols had a great time!

Cameron had a blast. He was tired, but full of interesting stories when he got home...

Cameron's rocket for the Space Exploration Merit Badge. He completed FOUR merit badges at camp, one is a requirement for Eagle Scout! Most first year Scouts do two badges at camp. He completed Space Exploration, Mammal Studies, Swimming, and Pioneering.

The whole gang. Memories are made of this...
