Come awake, come awake! Come and rise up from the grave!

He is risen, He is risen, indeed! Easter is the best holiday of the year, and we enjoyed ours. Here's a glance at the boy's egg dying skills, done this afternoon (yes, we know that is late!). Later this evening it was ham dinner and an otherwise relaxing day.
Cameron's coolest egg. We used a tye-dye egg kit.

Oh yeah, SOMEbody in this family had a birthday recently, wonder who that was! Between the driver's permit, driving lessons, and general family chaos I forgot to post this picture :o)

Merry Christmas!

Here's the latest in Christmas preparation from our family to yours!

Wesley and his best buds at the middle school holiday social (known in my day as a school dance). They had a great time and Cameron and mom enjoyed running the Dance Party game in the Library.

Ready for the Southridge holiday concert. Cameron loves wearing a tux!

Decorating the tree a couple of weeks ago.

Every ornament is special and has a story :)

The traditional McDonald's breakfast on Christmas Eve!

Thanks for sending the money for breakfast, Nanni and Bubba!

Cameron's winter concert - the saxophones performed "The Twelve Tunes of Christmas." Cam is third from the left, next to Myra. See if you can name all 12 songs :o)

And Wesley's fall concert, lots of Christmas music here too! Wesley is to the back on the left side.

Wesley's white elephant gift at the Scout party was a sheet of rice krispy treats. I didn't even know that they came that way! Anyway, the package said you could decorate the sheet with frosting, so we did!

Santa needs cookies for tonight!

The cookies before...

And after...

Have blessed Christmas as you prepare to welcome the baby in the manger!

Latest News

Been blog slacking again :) Here's the latest from our family to yours!

Wesley's first band concert of the year, it was awesome! Chock full of Christmas music :o)

For several days we've had frozen fog in a big way. I think it was perfect, everything looked white and wintery but the roads were clear!

We spent Thanksgiving with family in Oregon, and since we were there early, we decided to have girls day at the nail salon. Pedicures for everyone! Sara liked it.

Megan thought it was pretty cool too.

The lovely toes!

We also celebrated Christmas with this part of the family since we won't see them in December. Cam loved opening packages early.

Wesley was definitely in the spirit!

Woo hoo, had to visit Voodoo Donuts, including getting a bacon maple bar. Yummy....

Patrick Carman visited Highlands on an author tour, and Wes decided he really liked Carman's books. Had to get the newest one and have it autographed.

Cameron's been a Patrick Carman fan for years, now all his books are autographed!

Obviously I haven't blogged in awhile since I'm mixing Halloween and Christmas, but had to show you the pumpkins. Wesley's is the barfing one, Dad's isn't barfing :o)

Lobotomies all around!

Mom and Cam's happy pumpkins!

Catching Up...

My blogging buddy Kirsten has caught up her family blog, thus I must also keep up mine :) Ok, here are the most recent things the Nichols Clan has been up to, with the newest stuff first.

Beach time! Woo hoo! We just got back from a week at Lincoln City, thanks to Uncle Dan and Aunt Cheryl for letting us stay at their new beach house. We went "toe freezing" and thought of my grandmother. All us kids LOVED to toe freeze with Wyma!

Wesley making "pooter castles" in the sand.

You're never too old for sand castles/excavating/burying other people in the sand :)

To say that Angus loves playing in the surf would be a HUGE understatement.

Oh, oh, oh, Ainslee's salt water taffy co. also makes white chocolate dipped doggy bones! Who is the lucky dog??

A great afternoon at the Hatfield Marine Sciences Center, always a favorite.

Another favorite, MO's!! Oh yeah baby...

Cam and mom took a behind the scenes tour at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. It even included going up above Keiko's tank which is now the shark tunnel tanks! Oooh there were no railings up there, how interesting!

The tour's main purpose was to interact with the octopus. How amazing! We got to feed him as well.

Sooo cool, the octopus was very inquisitive and wanted to touch each person's hand.

We also got to feed the fish in one of the big tanks. We learned that they capture the senior citizen rock fish for these tanks, and they are really very quiet and tame. They will take fish from your hand.

Kids bowl free in the summer! A great way to spend an afternoon.

And Cameron gets his very own saxophone! We promised that if he played all through middle school and committed to band in high school, then he could get his own instrument. It's beautiful!

Wallowa Lake! And cousins! We had a great time at a mini-family reunion. Sara and Cam loved lunch at the Embers Brew Pub.

These are some of the strange relatives we spent the week with! Seriously, the kids had WAY too much fun with the Photo Booth app on my iPad. Check 'em out. This is my mom.

And my dad..

Brother in law Bill.

Cousin Megan (who liked Photo Booth the very best!)

Me and dad after dinner in town.

Woo hoo, Michelle went to the top of Mt. Howard, up the tram! Swore I'd never do that, but miracles do happen. The ticket proves it.

Heh heh heh, Bubba gets prepared to watch the boys on the bumper boats.

Shoot out!

Nanni and the boys hanging out after mini golf.

I got some really cool pix of the kids playing cards one night by lantern light.

Relay for Life the day school got out in June. Our troop set up the luminaries and had a walking team. It was a blast as usual!
