First Boy Scout Campout

And we're off - to monthly Boy Scout camping! Cameron and Dad headed out last weekend to their first of many monthly campouts. Our Troop camped jointly with Troop 179 from the Methodist Church, it gave them a bigger group to hang out with and lots of cool things to do.

Pioneering (a.k.a. knot tying). Dad taught this portion of the event.

Learning a square lashing. He did great!

Crossing the "monkey bridge." The older kids built it, the younger ones enjoyed using it :)

Cameron made a "CDR". The "Cameron's Drying Rack" was his useful camp gadget, this item fulfilled a requirement for First Class Scout (and he's only working on his Tenderfoot!).

Dad says Cameron did "phenomenal" at Pioneering. He learned knots even better than Dad did at the same age :)
