Surf, Sun, Sand, and Seafood

We just returned from a fantastic 10 days at Beverly Beach on the Oregon Coast. The weather was mostly beautiful (however it POURED last night, but we enjoyed listening to the rain on the roof), we had lots of time to play with friends, and we just relaxed and left the real world behind...Check out even more photos by clicking the Flickr link to the right>>>

The boys had a blast on the beach with cousins Sara and Megan. They dug in the sand and splashed in the waves for hours.

Our "little sister" Emma and her parents joined us for a few days. Emma loves Molly and Angus, you could hear her coming from around the corner chirping, "Dogs!" in her own little way :)

Woo hoo, Ainslees Salt Water Taffy, the very best in the whole world. Depoe Bay is lots of fun.

The boys tried Undersea Gardens this year. They really enjoyed watching the scuba diver demonstration. Sounds like this stop will become a regular part of our future trips.

Mmmmm, ice cream with Nanni at the outlet mall in Lincoln City. We bought some school clothes, and the boys enjoyed the toy store too.

Dad took the boys tidepooling during the week, they headed to Devil's Puchbowl State Park during a minus tide.

Wesley really enjoyed tidepooling, he likes gently touching the creatures he finds.

Cameron loves anything to do with the ocean, he wants to be a Marine Biologist when he grows up.

Wesley purchased this great hat at the Aquarium. He loves it!

Sandcastle time! The boys had fun digging in the sand. We spent hours on the beach :)

Dad joined in the sandcastle fun on our last day, they made a very elaborate one, complete with moat!

The boys and dad headed out for a busy afternoon of bay crabbing. Mom loves this activity because it usually translates into her favorite seafood, Dungeness Crab! This was Wesley's first trip, and he now wants Mom to accompany him next year.

Cameron enjoyed his second crabbing expedition, and next year he looks forward to a deep sea trip for salmon (with Dad, not Mom; she gets sea sick way too easily).

The boys on the boat, "The Sea Pirate."

The fruits of their labor, 24 Dungeness and 6 Rock crabs. Mmmmm, good eating. We got around 4 pounds of crab meat after 3 hours of cracking shells!

We hated to leave, but we know that we get to come back next year...
