Cub Country!

Wow, the boys and Dad just got home from three fantastic days at Cub Scout Camp, and did they ever have fun! Swimming, boating, leathercraft, archery, bb guns, snacks, (no camp fires, too dry), they had a blast. They arrived home last night tired, and smelling of bug spray, but they chatted long and hard about what a great time they had. See for yourself!

Flag ceremony. Check out Wesley, the closest standing scout in blue. Nice face!

Bug spray, bug spray, and more bug spray. They even put a coating of OFF on themselves, then followed up with some lemon-eucalyptis bug repellent from REI, and they STILL got bitten. You know the mosquitos are bad if they're biting Will, and they did! Slap some sunscreen on yourself on top of the bug spray, and we decided it was prudent to wash the sleeping bags when they got home :)

Cameron's arm. Mosquito bite count as of this morning was 87.

The super duper bounce house. Those are Wesley's legs you see in the picture.

Cameron (in red) and Hayden get ready for bb guns.

Cameron waits for his turn to qualify for swimmer. He passed the test on the second try! It was tough; he had to swim 75 yards doing a crawl stroke, flip over and swim 25 yards backstroke, then float for several minutes. Gaining his swimmer rank entitled him to run off the dock, bounce on the water trampoline, and into the deep water. Needless to say, he REALLY enjoyed that part! Wesley was happy playing in the shallow water.

Qualifying for swimmer also allowed Cameron to go out in the boats. Jordan's Mom, Nikki, was happy to take him out in the kyak.

The awesome trading post! The boys got ice cream, candy, keepsake drinking cups, and lots of other goodies.

Mask Making 101. How appropriate that Wesley's mask was a mosquito face!
