Let the Fishing Begin!

Vowing that "the only time we get to fish is during our Wallowa Lake trip each summer," intrepid fisherman Will "they're called RODS, not POLES!" Nichols packed up the boys, the tent camping gear, and the all-important fishing rods for a trip to the Blue Mountains. As you will see below, everyone had a fantastic time, even though the only toilets were vault toilets (otherwise known to those of us who hate 'em as "pit toilets").

Wesley caught his limit on Sunday, five beautiful trout! They caught three fish on Saturday too.

Cameron caught a Brook Trout on this trip! He also used a cooler as a fish tank for a little while, and released some of his fish a bit later. Guess he's getting his dad's "catch and release" habits down :)

Cameron is a real pro at paddling, for which Dad is grateful.

Cameron is also becoming a pro at handling the canoe at all times.

Aaaaah, the joys of tent camping, including lots of boxes of stuff :) Nothing better than food cooked on a camp stove!

Cameron took this picture over his shoulder. Not bad!

This might be one of Mom's favorite photos of the summer. Aaaah, a bench on a lake!
