Yes, we just returned from one of our favorite spots on God's beautiful earth - Wallowa Lake! Nine days and nights of mountain air, fishing, campfires, marshmallows, fishing, Russells, The Embers Brewpub, fishing, ice cream, arcade games, fishing, bumper boats, mini-golf, and finally, FISHING!
The weather was ever-changing for the first 5 days or so, but we ate every meal outside except one breakfast when it started to sprinkle some rain. We had several thunderstorms, including one on July 4th which caused Mom and Wesley to elect to skip the fireworks and play games while Dad and Cameron donned raincoats and walked over for a little while.
The fishing was great, plenty of 13-14 inchers were caught by our intrepid fishermen. We decided to leave "Big Willy" and some of the biggest ones for next year :)

The boys with some of the "whoppers" (Wesley's favorite word this trip) that they caught. Mom truly forgot who caught which fish, but just know that we'll have lots of smoked trout this year!

Fishing on the last night in camp. Dad's week-long fishing license expired on Friday, so he just helped the boys on Saturday night. They caught three more "breakfast trout" on this trip.

Cameron discovered fly fishing in a BIG way, and Dad says he did a wonderful job at it. After some practice he was casting on his own and caught a whopper doing it! Dad and Cameron had a "magical" night on the water, where every cast yielded at least a nibble.

Wesley discovered that he LIKED breakfast trout prepared on the bbq! He and Dad ate plenty of them with salt and lots of pepper.

Nothing better than ice cream at the Sweet Shoppe in Joseph. This is where we called Nanni from, and Bubba says our phone call cheered her right out of a bad mood that Circult City caused! Just prior to this photo, we had been having dinner at the Embers Brew Pub when the sky broke loose and town was pelted by marble-sized hail and huge raindrops for about 10 minutes. We ate our dinner and walked out, and the streets were almost dry. We had ice cream and drove back to the campground where everything was completely DRY! The storm hadn't touched camp!

The boys are just the right age to enjoy the arcade. We went a couple of times, and even Mom and Dad had fun playing pool with the boys.

The caterpillar boys. We were in luck, and the trees yielded quite a few "friends" that were brought back to camp. Luckily Mom taught the boys to take back the old ones and get fresh ones every day or two. They all had names, and the boys created elaborate homes for them. They also created a whole bunch of LEGO "carnival" rides for them!

Cameron didn't mind the caterpillars crawling on him, but Wesley wasn't as happy about it :)

Mini golf is a blast, and we played both "courses" that are available at the Lake, and Mom won both games :)

Bumper boats were a big hit. Wesley was unsure about trying them, but the first time we went down only he and Cameron were there, so they had the whole thing to themselves. That's all it took. The next time they went the place was full and they had a great time.

Cameron and Dad went on a several-hour hike that included a stop and splash in a nice (COLD!!!!) creek. Our hikers had a wonderful time!
