Woo hoo, that was fun! The Library had their summer reading program kick-off today, and Elvis was there! Well, a neat Doberman named Shrek was there anyway, and he dressed up for us. This year's theme is "Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales," so the dogs were right in there. We met three therapy dogs, a German Shepard named Kayos, a Newfoundland named Kyra, and Shrek the Doberman. It was lots of fun, and we ran into several friends from school too. We checked out a stack of books, and are ready to get started on our 15 hours of summer reading (actually we've got almost half of that done already!).

The boys meet Kayos, the German Shepard. She is so mellow and relaxed. She is 3 years old and already has severe hip displaysia, so her future career may be in the therapy field instead of competition.

Shrek is a very friendly and beautiful Doberman. He has a long list of titles, including competition at Westminster. He's done events at 10 libraries in as many days, and he was getting pretty tired.
